Aletes is a Greek word meaning both

This dual meaning embodies our philosophy of helping individuals embrace their true selves and address their mental health challenges with clarity and courage. At

After thoughtful discussions with my husband and family, I am excited to share that we have decided to rebrand our practice to better reflect my personal and professional growth. This significant change is aimed at enhancing our services and aligning more closely with our core values.
A Little History of Aletes
After landing in Northern Ireland in December 2016, I embarked on a journey to establish a mental health practice that would provide innovative and compassionate care. This journey began with MC International, a venture I founded to cater to diverse mental health needs. MC International made significant strides in the industry, known for its commitment to excellence and the well-being of its clients.
On 15 April 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Athena Limited was born. The decision to close MC International and transfer its trademarks to Athena marked a new chapter. Athena, inspired by the Greek warrior queen and goddess of wisdom, symbolises strength, protection, and enlightenment. The aegis of Zeus, depicted in our logo, represents our dedication to safeguarding mental health.
The white cross in the centre of our logo symbolises our unwavering commitment to providing the best possible mental health care. Incorporated during a global crisis, Athena aimed to deliver innovative, effective, and affordable mental health services to our private clients in Northern Ireland and beyond.
From day one, we have been proud of our achievements and remain excited about our future projects. Our team comprises the most qualified and experienced professionals in the sector, ensuring that our clients receive the highest standard of care.
In addition to mental health services, Athena partnered with Eurofins Scientific and PathCloud to help Northern Ireland confront the Coronavirus crisis. We provided low-cost diagnostic testing and distributed free medical protective equipment, demonstrating our commitment to community welfare.
As we transition to Aletes, we continue to uphold our core values, striving to be pioneers in mental health care and remaining dedicated to the journeys of our clients.
In June 2024, we chose the name Aletes as part of our rebranding. The word is rooted in ancient Greek mythology and literature, meaning wanderer or traveller. It encapsulates movement, journey, and perseverance, and reflects the process of reclaiming or asserting one’s rightful place. These values align seamlessly with our mission.
Our website motto, “More than psychology. A life-changing journey,” resonates more naturally with Aletes than with the name of a goddess. In therapy, we embark on an exploration of feelings, with the therapist guiding each individual through their memories, thoughts, and emotions. This journey requires humility and unconditional love for humanity, fostering growth and healing. These are principles I have cultivated through years of spiritual and professional development, and which I now strive to impart to my students.
I am delighted to begin this new chapter and confident that the rebranding to Aletes will resonate more deeply with our shared goals and values. I am grateful for your continued support and invite you to join us in this exciting transition.
